(post 18) Audince feedback on your kuleshov effect videos
The koleshov effect theory is where you use the same image but change what the person s looking at this is suppose to trick the reader into thinking they are showing different emotion. When showing strangers in Wymondham Town Centre this video we got mixed emotions towards it, some did not get the theory and worked out it was the same image therefor making it seem that the theory is not true on everyone, other members of the public saw the same emption for very clip, such as like anger, and lastly no one guessed the true emotions they are suppose to being portrayed instead they only figured out 2 of the 3. all in all this shows that this theory is not as strong as first believed perhaps suggesting either the image of the person was not neutral enough or the theory only works with certain people. I was not expecting this feedback from the audience, I felt that they would of understood the concept to the extent of seeing the different emotions, this did not happen which surprised me...
( post 14) sound in love actually
Sound In Love Actually When looking at sound, we focussed on a scene from love actually. This scene is the opening scene and has dialog over the top of videos from Heathrow airport. When watching it we first listened to it with the sound turned on, and then listened to it with the sound turned off. We then had to identify all of the different sounds in the video. The main feature of the video was the voice over by David (Huge Grant) and then we also noticed the music behind it. We also learned about diegetic and non- diegetic sound. Diegetic sound is the sound that is actually in the scene. Non diegetic sound is when the sound is not picked up on screen and so has to be added during the edited process. For example, music being added to increase the tension or to make it a recognisable movie and also the voice over to add a personal perspective of the scene .
